A way to keep moving with CFS

For people with CFS who are complete beginners or: dancers or Pilates students who have had to halt exercise due to long-covid who want to keep moving with some guidance. This is what I use.

Pilax RiseUp may be right for you if you're...

😬 NEW TO PILATES

"I want to start, but I'm nervous and I have CFS."

🤔 STRUGGLING WITH OPTIONS

"There's so many cures and remedies out there!." This is not a cure but a gentle hand to walk alongside you.

🫶 NEED SOMETHING GENTLER WHILE STRUGGLING WITH CFS

"I keep getting told its mind over matter/ I cried at a gym that said they dealt with long covid but after one class it was obvious they clearly didn't."  If this was you- I get it! This has been me!

One important thing before you join

Pilax isn't designed for people who are still wondering whether they should give it a go.

It's for people who have decided: "I'm ready to give this a proper go. I just need somewhere I feel safe starting."

If that's you:

The Pilax Difference:
Realistic explanations | Relaxation Techniques | Intention over Intensity

Realistic explanations

I don't expect you to magically know what I'm talking about. I explain the exercises in a way that actually makes sense.

Relaxation techniques

Pilax isn't about clenching everything and surviving the workout. Learning to release and reset is part of the method.

Intention over intensity

You don't need to destroy yourself to make progress.

You're here to learn how to move — not prove how fit you are.

I had one-on-one sessions with Natania when she first began Pilax. Natania is very detail oriented in her work. When I told her I had pain in my lower back, she found the exact muscle that was bothering me and gave me exercises to help it. She also has provided me a lot of invaluable nutrition advice that has helped me so much. As a beginner I was intimidated to take Pilates, but Natania is so kind, attentive and tailors everything to you. I know her videos will be as if she is right there with you.

Understand you,
Move you

Former country-relocator, always out to learn about new cultures and dance, only stopped by the pandemic and subsequently covid; I began learning Pilates in 2015.

I took it while exhausted or barely awake and discovered how useful it could be even when worn out. I completed my Mat certificate with Balanced Body Pilates in 2020 and began teaching in a pandemic environment, immediately applying all my learnings about exhaustion while moving, dance training and creation in limited spaces.

I had clients who were burnt out, out of fitness due to lack of gym access and full of small injuries that were starting to add up. From there I developed Pilax, integrating relaxation techniques and sticking to the original Joseph Pilates methods of working the body all over and not just one spot. I soon began applying my methods outside the laptop walls in-person.

Once I caught covid myself and developed ongoing fatigue, I applied further learning from my former physio sessions as a dancer, careful experimentation and research into a gentler format, initially only designed for myself. I added this into my routines for anyone with CFS and went on to form RiseUp as an addition to Pilax Pilates.
