IN A NUTSHELL SERIES

Welcome to IN A NUTSHELL SERIES... and my blog overhaul. I've been busy working on a lot of new videos this past year and figuring out how to send Pilax out into the world more so have been a little slack on the writing department. This is sad, I love writing. And I promise from now on, one new blog every two months and updating/republishing former blogs every other month- just for you.

What is IN A NUTSHELL SERIES?

In a nutshell is a small 1-3 page blog explaining something useful a vaguely related to Pilates. We started with Pilates in a nutshell and will be moving through health and exercise modalities throughout the year.

WHY THIS CONTENT AND NOT OTHERS?

Lots of clients and non-dance non-Pilates friends often ask me what a certain health modality is. Most of the time I know but breaking it down on the spot is not easy and sometimes, even I don't have the correct terminology for something and when I do, no one understands. So think of these blogs as "XX for dummies". None of it will be technically heavy, 50% of it is written off the top of my head (and fact checked for anything I'm not sure of) and none of it will poo-poo anything nor claim it is the ultimate cure for every ailment.

At the end of the day, the aim is to help the regular everyday person have a road map for when making their own health decisions which is not what everyone often does or gets to do. Ive read too many articles about people going to doctors claiming something is wrong and being turned away only for years in, them to discover there was something serious and its too late. My own close friend had the same thing happen to them. Fortunately, they are now doing better but have a long road of recovery ahead of them.

Sometimes by exploring alternative health options, we can discover an underlying issue that points in the direction of something we've been trying to figure out for years, then go back to our GP with a suggestion that they take seriously and investigate. Sometimes we need to change GPs. If you never do, congratulations, you are very fortunate.

Hope the following IN A NUTSHELL SERIES blogs helps any reader!
